Very large cosmopolitan subfamily of endoparasites of cyclorrhaphous Diptera. Very frequently collected. The only other known subfamily of Braconidae containing true exodont species is the Ichneutinae (the genus Anaprixia Mason, 1991 from SE U.S.A.). It can be recognized by the curved vein 1-M of fore wing (51a), which is straight among Alysiinae, and first and second metasomal tergites which have no spiracles.
